Another in my Little Photo series of Hitachino Nest Ales, this one being RGA (Real Ginger Ale). I like it. In second place behind Espresso Stout, and before the JCA, and White Ale.

It looks like in January, I'll resume posting from PA....

Hitachino Espresso Stout

A tasty treat. About seven bucks a pop. They've just started selling these Hitachino beers in the supermarkets in Seoul. Coming up next .... Hitachino JCA (Japanese Classic Ale).

Who wants to meet me here on Thursday evening?  According to their twitter, I will be drinking Surly in Shibuya.  Who'da thunk it.

Lotus flower makgeolli and fried perilla leaf-wrapped oysters.  The makgeolli was fantastic - the best I've had in a while.  It was mild and dry and a little bit sour like tonic.

From the bodega
Bottle caps
The Harbin bottle is actually a real work of art, and Harbin's my favorite Chinese beer.

A North Korean bottle cap from the tour Duane and I took back in March.  Found it when I was packing.

Local IPA for your belly

Had a couple IPA's last week at Craftworks in Seoul.  Nice lacing, as you can see.

Coffee in Hanoi

Prepared via aluminum drip filter with condensed milk.  Tasted like chicory.  Hanoi was kinda like New Orleans.

Mysterious Vietnamese liquor

Vietnamese homebrewed liquor

After lunch along the way to Halong Bay I tried a shot of liquor from the bottle on the far right.

The taste was really bitter.  And I am still able to see!

I wouldn't have it a second time.  And worse yet, it apparently was made with bear bile.

California Sake

Sake with some friends. Good stuff - it's made in California so you can probably find it. Sesame leaf tempura was different. Then we had pork-wrapped vegetable tempura. Really good.
