Can beers age in the fridge?

From what I've read, if the beer is filtered, then the fridge can stop oxidation, but it won't improve.

For bottle conditioned beers, the fridge will probably halt any aging, unless we're talking about lager or pilsner. On the other hand, I think lagering is essential for all homebrewed beers. But I would age first and then lager.
