Hop Henge - Enjoy my stock photo!

Eagerly anticipating this beer since it arrived via the sweet beer box prior to Beerfest, I finally cracked her tonight. Deschutes was a favorite brewery during the Montana years, so I was thrilled to get their Imperial IPA. So, here goes. Pours to a nice amber, minimal lacing, smells of sweet fruits and malt. Tastes, hmmm.....carries the sweetness of a big IPA with a mishmosh of malts, and mildly astringent hops. This beer moved up from a regular IPA to an Imperial and the taste shows it. It's enjoyable and somewhat mellow, and I could drink the hell out of it, but for it's billing, it doesn't stand up; it's a beer without a true home.

3.7/5

I just got an Obsidian Stout in a trade that I'm pretty pumped to try.
