Smuttynose IPA is bitter and tastes a bit like baby aspirin. Better as it warms, but just not great. I pick this up every so often in hopes it may become a go-to in a pinch. Like most lessons that go unlearned, it continually fails to live up to expectations. On a positive note, the bottle balances nicely on a mini-watermelon.

I concur. I had one about a month ago and thought it was a sort of generic, slightly overpriced IPA. I'd give it a B or B-.
