Another interesting brew from Short's

Short's Abnormal Genius - This is another beer in the Short's Imperial Series that I brought home from northern Michigan. This one is "High Gravity Golden Ale fermented with sunflower seeds and Honey." The aroma is pure sunflower seeds and a little bit of sweetness. The taste is unlike any beer I've had before. I can taste that sunflower seeds again and a little bit of peanut butter. It is pretty sweet, since honey is a good fermentable and a little on the hot side. The finish is a strange combination of some bitterness (not hop bitterness) that I'm having trouble explaining and alcohol. A very tasty and successful experiment.
