We were a little more enterprising today. We went out to go shopping. I picked some more beer surprises that you'll find out about later.
We had lunch at this place called Cambrinus. They had good beer and good food (the first time I've had rabbit and it was damn good)
The following beers were consumed:
Struise Rosse - This one was pretty good. It had a fruity smell, but a really dry aftertaste. Almost like drinking wine.
Struise Pannepøt - This one is not to be confused with the Pannepot, this one is different. It had strong tastes of bread and anise. It was quite good, but not as good as the Pannepot.
Brugse Zot - This was gross. No taste. Smelled like an ass that have just farted. Tasted like ass too. Don't buy beer because they have nice cartoony labels :)
Gouden Carolus Cuvee van de Keyser - This one was outstanding. It was 11% abv and they only had it in 750ml and of course, it was too strong for Carey, so I had to drink the whole thing. It was so good though. By far the best Gouden Carolus. It had a good vinous flavor and aroma and was very drinkable too.
Then we headed to a bar called the Brugs Beertje, which stands for the Bruges Little Bear (good pub name).
There we had:
't Smisje Dubbel IPA - This was just ok. The term IPA in Belgium means a slight hop presence, so I was a little disappointed.
Ellezelloise Saisis - This was a good, spicy witbier
Maredsous 8 - This just an ok abbey style dark beer. Nothing special
